Understanding the Clean Sport Certification

At THE GOOD PILL CO we believe in the right of consumers to make informed choices about the supplements they purchase. For the athletes between them however an elevated standard of quality is needed. We must make sure that the supplements they chose are aligned with the ethics of their sport and do not contain performance enhancing banned substances.

Ever since the first Olympiads in ancient Greece, sports have been a symbol of high moral values, like equality, fair play, excellence, respect and friendship. In today’s world, organisations like the World Antidoping Agency (WADA) are here to safeguard these values, by developing, harmonizing and coordinating anti-doping rules and policies across the world for all sports.

Unintentional doping from dietary supplements is a real danger. An international study by the IOC in 2002 had shown that 15% of dietary supplements contained banned substances or their precursors, mainly anabolic androgenic steroids. A follow up study in 2007 by the German Sport University found the number to have dropped close to 1% but the risk of contamination remained non zero. A more localized study in Australia found doping related contaminants in sport supplements to be present in as high as 35% of the samples tested (Sport Integrity Australia, 2025), with the main culprits being again anabolic androgenic steroids and stimulants.

The Cleaner Sport certification by THE GOOD PILL CO. is here to provide the assurance that athletes require when supplementing their diet. By focusing on the main contaminants responsible in unintentional doping, namely anabolic androgenic steroids and stimulants, we provide the best safety an athlete can expect.

The World Antidoping Agency (WADA), on top of upkeeping the list of banned substances on a yearly basis, is also the organisation calling for clean and ethical sport through its Athlete Council. THE GOOD PILL CO. as a contributor to the same cause is coordinating with its Sport’s Advisors to further the same cause.
